    The Tan Yan Kee Foundation, Inc. continues to respond to the challenges of  Covid-19 pandemic through its HOPE Caravan’s outreach campaign in Paluan, Occidental Mindoro where it distributed alcohol, face masks, PPEs and food packs in cooperation with the local government unit and the Philippine Military.

    ​TYKFI Hope Caravan represented by Emelda Mateo donates  food packages, alcohol, body wash and facemasks to the Municipality of Carranglan, Nueva Ecija  to benefit more than 500 individuals through Rogelio Abad, president of the town’s association of barangay captains.

    TYKFI COVID-19 RESPONSE: TACLOBAN

    In response to the challenges of Covid-19 pandemic in the countryside, the Tan Yan Kee Foundation, Inc., partners with Tacloban Delta Volunteer Fire Rescue in their effort to disinfect streets, markets and other public places in the city of Tacloban and nearby municipalities in the province of Leyte. The local fire volunteer group headed by Jefferson Ko, Mark Aquino and Engr. Alexander Uy, are in coordination with Tanduay Tacloban Branch Manager Joram Bacorro for this collaborative effort to further prevent  Covid-19 infections among the residents.

    ​In response to the challenges of Covid-19 pandemic in the countryside, the Foundation started a HOPE Caravan outreach campaign to distribute relief food items, medical supplies, disinfectant and body wash to local government officials of several communities in Regions II and III from March 27 to 31, 2020. The campaign has reached thousands of residents and their families in the towns of Aritao and Sta. Fe in Nueva Vizcaya and Carranglan in Nueva Ecija in cooperation with the LGUs and volunteer partner groups.
     
    The Foundation donated 285 food packages (1 pack per family) to residents of Brgy. Balete, Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya. Philip Sing (center) hands the items to Hon. Mayor Tidong Benito, Balete Brgy. Captain Hon. Romeo Bugtong, Brgy. Officials, Municipal Administrator Albert Eugenio, and Former Municipal Mayor Teodorico DP. Padilla, Jr. Also in attendance are Jonathan Anuma, Emelda Mateo, Ricky Biagtan of TYKFI.

    Rebuilding Hope through HOPE Caravan: Shelter Assistance in Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur

    Typhoon Ompong was an extremely powerful tropical cyclone that hit northern Luzon and damaging millions-worth of properties in several regions.
        With sustained winds of up to 285 km per hour, it was the strongest storm to hit Northern Luzon since 2010, and the strongest nationwide since typhoon Haiyan in 2013.  It brought along swaying high-rises, broken windows, flash floods, and catastrophic landslides.  Despite the fact that the devastation of typhoon Haiyan occurred only in recent memory, this typhoon brought over 100 heart-wrenching fatalities mainly due to landslides in Itogon, Benguet.
